CQC compliance training
CQC compliance training is a hot topic at the moment with changes afoot in the way inspection criteria is formulated and applied, it’s an issue that feeds directly into the work we do here at Insequa. As specialists in social care, it’s vital that we stay informed of changes as and when they occur.
To this end, we recently took a day away from our desks to sit together around the training room table and take pointers from an expert in the field of social care compliance. Our external training instructor for the day was Cristie Madigan, a CQC compliance and regulation consultant. She gave us the benefit of her wisdom on the subject of CQC compliancy and how that relates to social care in general. Although a fascinating and important topic, the timing wasn’t entirely coincidental, as we have recently launched new CQC regulation services at Insequa delivering pre-CQC audit assessments, remedial support, training, workshops and masterclass events.
As social care experts, we already have extensive knowledge of how the CQC operate and have first-hand experience of how their regulatory powers can effect care companies. However, as their role is continuing to evolve and build, changes to how they function will soon be having even more influence on the way care quality is monitored and measured. Keeping ahead of the curve is something we pride ourselves on here at Insequa, and this training session was commissioned to retain our leading position.
With this in mind, hearing about how CQC inspectors enforce the regulations, learning how and why different grades are awarded, and having the opportunity to explore through discussion the nuanced aspects of care delivery where detail, context, vigilance and compassion hold equal sway, it was a rewarding day of discovery and learning for the team.
Whether it was to do with the detail of social care policies and how these are applied practically, or the subtle (and not so subtle) differences in care provision that attract varied ratings – it was all useful intel that we can apply in our efforts to support care companies through what can often be a nerve-wracking experience.
After this enjoyable and illuminating training course, our team are keen to get moving on our new range of CQC Regulation related services.
