Let’s introduce ourselves – we are Insequa Co-Directors, Bill Watson and Peter Hamilton. With over fifty years’ combined experience in social care, academia, public sector tendering, business turnarounds and strategy, we know what it takes to optimise your chances of business success.
We have an independent streak and it’s fair to say we do things a little differently. As specialists in social care, we’re set apart from other business support generalists. We are social care experts, passionate about what we do.
Over time we have assembled a talented team of bid professionals at Insequa, who work tirelessly for our valued clients. With persuasive and compelling writing skills and vast sector experience, our bid teams get consistently strong results – our current audited win rate is 94.5%.
Bill worked in the Public Sector for 22 years prior to launching Insequa Ltd. He started his career as a nurse in the NHS, working in orthopaedics and trauma (wards, theatres, ITU) as well as, briefly, acute medicine.
Bill then moved into an academic role where he spent 15 years undertaking and leading on programmes of applied research in close collaboration with the NHS. This involved asking research questions and applying research methodologies to issues of organisational and service development.
During the late 90’s, Bill worked in association with McMaster University in Canada and a network of UK-based researchers on developing whole-system, inter-agency programmes of service planning and delivery. He also lead on service development projects in the areas of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Diabetes and Cancer, working with hospital Trusts, PCTs and Local Authorities.
Within his academic career, Bill authored several academic reports and peer-reviewed papers, and reviewed for academic journals and the Government’s Service Development and Organisation research funding stream.
Peter has spent over 25 years working with SMEs formerly on company turnarounds via strategic change and more latterly as a Co-founder and Director of Insequa Ltd.
Peter qualified as a business mentor helping hundreds of companies become more fit-to-compete in the public service arena. He spent 5 years being responsible for building a delivery team capable of providing help to SMEs across many sectors. This team was built on winning tendered contracts for services from the public sector. One project was the 3-year Supply London programme which was responsible for supporting London based companies to win contracts (from the ODA and Locog) for the 2012 Olympics.
Peter has written and bid directed many successful tenders including Healthcare, Dentistry, Advocacy, Translation services, Mental Health, Homecare, Social Care and several for ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) grant funding. Peter has sat as a technical expert on EEDAs Proof of Concept grant funding appraisal panel and turned around projects lacking outputs into success stories. Peter has acted as a bid evaluator and moderator for several public-sector commissioners.
